Working with Multiple Folders
There are occasions when you wish to view, tag, or compare images from many different folders. | |||
Here are the steps for doing this with FastPhotoTagger: o Enable the feature in "Program Settings / Other" |
Enable Multiple Folders In "Program Settings /
Other" check the box for "Select multiple image
folders".
Open Image Folder
Dialog Press the "Open Image Folder" button on the application window. When you have enabled multiple folders, the "Open Image Folder" dialog changes to a tree-view of all your computer's files. You may expand and contract folders by clicking on "+" and "-" symbols. You may select any number of folders for opening by clicking in their checkboxes. The selected folders are shown at the bottom of the dialog box. Subfolders of a checked folder are NOT automatically selected. You may deselect a folder by clicking its checkbox in either the top or bottom of the dialog. Deselect all folders by clicking the "Clear" button. Here, two folders (Animals and Beaches) are selected for opening. |
Grouped
or Merged Display Formats Image files may be displayed
in either Grouped or Merged formats.
Grouped means images are organized first by their owning folder and then by your chosen sorting method. Merged means images are organized only by your chosen sorting method. This is Merged format:. You may change display format by using a popup menu on the image panel. (See above.) Right-click, then select Grouped or Merged. This is Grouped format. Grouped format uses an open folder icon at the beginning of each file group. The images following each open folder icon belong to that folder. |
Some Notes o When multiple image folders
are open the "Current Folder" at the top of the window
displays a <folder+n> indication. If you've
forgotten what is open just click the "Open Image Folder"
button to bring back the selection dialog.
o Even if you have not enabled multiple folders, you may still use the Grouped / Merged popup menu to view Search results. |
