All Files Access Permission
(Android)
On Android 11+, app permissions have changed starting in
FastPhotoTagger v3.1. Version 3.0 used a temporary compatibility
mode that looked just like Android 10. Version 3.1+ uses a new
permission.
(Permissions aside, please remember that your data and privacy are
protected by FastPhotoTagger. This app does not have network access
of any kind so it can't send anything to anyone. Its privacy policy is one of the simplest on
the planet.)
Android 11+ contains numerous security improvements to protect your
data and privacy. One of these improvements severely restricts an
app's view of the files on a device. If you've used FastPhotoTagger
you know that its file manager interface lets you organize your
files as you want them, not as some other app wants them. So this
improvement severely impacts the capabilities of FastPhotoTagger and
a few other classes of application. (It also has a huge impact on
the speed of FastPhotoTagger.)
Recognizing these difficulties, Android 11+ has an escape clause: a
new permission called "All Files Access."
On your first execution of v3.1+ you will be asked to grant "All
Files Access." When you grant this permission FastPhotoTagger will
work exactly as it does on Android 4 through 10.
